Blog Construction + I CAN’T CONTAIN MY EXCITEMENT

First off – I am sorry about the mess of a blog, please keep reading me! And pass me on! And love me!

Right now we’re undergoing some blog construction. And by blog construction, I mean I am very amateurishly constructing my blog into what I dream of it being and there is a MASSIVE learning curve going along with that.

Let me show you:

And the answer is YES I did give myself a red star body. Which I colored in myself in paint, which is not easy to do.

So if you’re wondering why my blog looks horrendous and why it changes a million times a day, it’s because I am learning s l o o o o w l y how to customize on my own. You’d think blogger would make it easy.

Also, I’m streamlining my blog, which (once I figure out how to add tabs) I will explain in full at a later date.

Now, I’ll bet you’re wondering why I CAN’T CONTAIN MY EXCITEMENT. ;) Because of this email:

AHAHA! Garmin Forerunner 405 you are MINEMINEMINE! And in time for me to utilize for the 5k this weekend too! I love having an anniversary, Sean gets motocross boots and I get my garmin. I definitely drove home on my lunch break to see if it had been delivered (it hadn’t) but now I see that it has been and I am very impatiently waiting to go home and open it and play with it. :)

Oh and it’s Wednesday, halfway tipping point of the week. Hope it’s lovely for you all!

I love technology

This weekend I was flying solo because Sean was out of town. So I did the normal “I’m an awesome housewife (even though I’m not a housewife)” and I got up and did yoga and cleaned and grocery shopped and sent Sean on his merry way.

Jackie (she’s so pushy sometimes) made me do a 40 minute total body circuit as well Saturday afternoon and then I relaxed like every normal person does with these:

I went on a minor shopping trip and came home with white capris (because I have an apparent death wish, who buys white capris? Let’s be honest, I have a tendency to wear my food and drinks) and these shoes that I’ve been lusting after for months now (I’ve gone to try them on at least five times):
Then I went over to my parents house to spend some time with my dad. We drank a million glasses of wine and then went and had Berry Hill with my momma who had been at work. Then I came home with them and had 55 more glasses of wine (exact number) before going home and basically passing out.
Leo, being the jerk that he is sometimes, had to rub it in my face that he can find comfort in the weirdest of places:

Sunday I woke up to a throbbing headache (for someone that hasn’t drank really in months, too much wine was definitely a bad thing) and I tried to counteract it by being super productive and running around like a crazy person (no lie).

Then Sean and I went and saw the Lincoln Lawyer and I forced him to take me to have frozen yogurt.

Mine is the deformed close one. Why Sean’s looks so pretty is beyond me.

I then inhaled most of a bacon burger (who am I??) from Chili’s before finally deciding I needed to chill out and we went home and watched 3:10 to Yuma. And then my weekend ended. Exciting stuff, right?

Oh and I tried to write this post last night, but someone wouldn’t let me use the laptop.

Exciting Things!

Because it’s Friday I’m going to share some exciting things goin’ on ’round here…

1. In 17 days I will celebrate my 1 year anniversary of being married to my bestest friend ever.

This picture is circa 2005. We haven’t changed much since then (true story: he still has that sweater and still wears it, holes and all). The only real thing that’s changed is that I’ve learned to open my eyes more in pictures.

2. April 9th (aka next Saturday) I’ll run the Blue Bell Fun Run in Brenham, TX (um, hello, it’s at Blue Bell. duh.) and then we will drive onward to Wimberely so that we can celebrate our anniversary *a week early* by drinking wine at the winery we got engaged at and spending the night in a quaint little B&B.

3. April 15th (2 days before our actual anniversary) I will get lasik! And force Sean to hang out with me all day! Bye bye glasses, contacts and eye infections. It’s been real, but you won’t be missed.

4. April 17: 1 year anniversary!

5. Good Friday – Easter Sunday my mom and I will be flying out to El Paso for a “girls weekend” with my grandma. I can’t wait to spend time with two of my favorite women!

6. April 28th – Astros game. Enough said, I love baseball.

Sean has to work the weekend of our actual anniversary which is why we’re celebrating a week early. And we plan on having a long ‘anniversary’ vacation around my birthday where we will go exploring in Yellowstone National Park for a week jussssssst the two of us. I adore him, have I mentioned that?

In other news… I have been a vegetable cooking machine lately.

I made herbed zucchini soup:

which I’ve been eating for lunch all week. It’s pretty good stuff! Should anyone want the recipe, just holla holla and I’ll send it on over.

I also made “skinny stuffed artichokes”:

They are SOOO good. We had them last night for dinner.

And tonight? Tonight we are going for crawfish with this lovely couple:

I can’t wait to sit on a patio, soak up some sun, eat some crawfish, and spend time with those two and the hubs. Perfect.
