Whole Health Associates

While my doctor deserves his own post, which will hopefully go up tomorrow, I thought that the office he works at was pretty deserving of one as well.

Many months ago (in May) I started going to Whole Health Associates to see my current doctor for treatment with my (very stubborn) knee. Since I began treatment there I’ve been to the office a dozen or so times (probably more, I go a lot), which is the most time I’ve ever spent at a doctor’s office.

The office is located at 1406 Vermont Street, and is a quaint little house that’s kind of off the beaten path. The fact that it’s in a house immediately makes it more welcoming than the sterile, cold environment that a typical doctor’s office has, and getting to hang out on the couches they have is definitely more inviting than sitting in one of the metal chairs that waiting rooms usually provide. From what I’ve seen, each doctor’s office is a different room of the house, giving the whole place a very homey feeling that put me at ease right away.

For the record, I hate going to the doctor and, up until this year, I avoided it at all costs. I now spend a lot of my free time hanging out (ok, going to appointments – it’s practically the same thing) at Whole Health Associates.

The staff at Whole Health Associates has always been nothing but nice to me, and I’ve sat and chatted with the ladies who work the front desk on more than one occasion after an appointment has ended. They’re friendly, talkative, and not really like any other staff at any doctor’s office I’ve been to before. I love them.

The office is also stocked with all of the supplements that you may need during treatment, and I’ve only run into a couple situations where they haven’t had what I’ve needed on hand – and they’ve always been quick to restock them. They also are willing to mail you the supplements you need, and it typically only takes a day or two after placing an order to receive them in the mail. Considering the office is a good 40 minute drive from my work and a 30 minute drive from my house (with no traffic – so factor in Houston 290 traffic and it’s more like an hour away) that’s been pretty clutch for me. I just call when I think I’m starting to run low on something and then in a few days its waiting in my mailbox. Easy. Fast. Efficient.

I also have only had to wait once to go into an appointment, and that’s more because my doctor is pretty chatty (which is a major plus) than anything, not because they were overbooked.

All in all, my whole experience with them has been phenomenal. Considering I’ve spent the better part of 2012 hanging out in various doctor’s offices, this is a big deal to me. I also have no qualms voicing any negative feelings I have towards places, and I will only recommend places that I truly believe in. If you need a chiropractor/applied kinesiologist GO HERE. But be sure to go see my doctor [Torry Hinson], who I’ll be back to write more about tomorrow. Smile
